Be Cautious:Six Hazardness of Kidney Biopsy

There are many kinds of kidney diseases and the causes of them are complicated. In order to treat kidney disease effectively, the detailed diagnosis are necessary. Kidney biopsy is one of the treatment methods which is used to check the problems. Renal biopsy (also kidney biopsy) is a medical procedure in which a small piece of kidney is removed from the body for examination, usually under a microscope. Microscopic examination of the tissue can provide information needed to diagnose, monitor or treat problems of the kidney.
A renal biopsy can be targeted to a particular lesion, for example a tumour arising from the kidney (targeted renal biopsy). More commonly, however, the biopsy is non-targeted as medical conditions affecting the kidney typically involve all kidney tissue indiscriminately. In the latter situation, any sufficiently-sized piece of kidney tissue can be used. However there may exists some side effects or complications when received a kidney biopsy. The following passage is a list of potential complications.
n The symptom of oliguresis and anuresis.
n Low blood pressure
n Back pain. Most of the patients will feel back pain or uncomfortable on the same side after they have done the kidney biopsy. This condition may diappear automatically in 4-5 days and only a small number of patients may last a little long time.
n Blood urine. It is the most common complication of kidney biopsy. About 80-90% of the patients is reported to have blood urine. Generally speaking, blood urine will disappear in 4-5days without special management and there is little impact on the kidney.
n Damage to other organs. Generally speaking, kidney biopsy will do slight damage to the kidney but during the operation the liver, spleen, bell cyst and intestinal tube may be injured accidentally and lead to complications.
n Infection. The infection may be caused by the loose concept of asepsis or the spread of bacteria from the original kidney infection.
